Mabqi is a leading France-based biotechnology company developing next generation of human therapeutic antibody derived from its proprietary, AI-augmented phage/yeast display platform.

Purpose and hierarchical reporting of the job position

Member of the executive committee and reporting to the CEO of Mabqi, the CRO Business Developer is responsible for sales, the development of sales and marketing activities for the company’s Services Business Unit. He/she leads all activities from lead acquisition to lead closing. He/she also works in association with the CEO on business development activities associated with the company’s asset portfolio.

The CRO Business Developer works on a daily basis with the Chief Technical Officer to design commercial proposals. Frequent interactions with the antibody discovery team are essential for program success and customer satisfaction. The Business Development team will expand according to the evolution of revenues.

Mabqi’s business model is based on success fees and requires strong involvement of salespeople in the execution of the discovery: the objective is revenues, not just orders.


Job missions

  • Define, in collaboration with the CEO, a Marketing & Sales strategy allowing the company to achieve ambitious revenue objectives for the CRO activity — the activity is currently mainly European, with some transactions in the United States; Mabqi plans to expand its international reach.
  • Lead the execution of the Marketing & Sales strategy.
  • Hands-on implementation for sales activities in collaboration with internal scientific experts: lead acquisition, complex sales proposal design, opportunity management, deal closing & follow-up.
  • Be a stakeholder in improving sales processes.
  • Contribute to improving the service, identifying potential new activities and upstream marketing.


Job profile

You are ideally a dual graduate of business school (MBA) and Bsc in life sciences/biology.

You have at least 8 years of sales and marketing experience and a sales network of biopharmaceutical services, ideally associated with drug discovery activities.

You demonstrate real communication skills, with a natural trend for customers and partners relationships.

Being a spontaneous team player, you are autonomous and proactive in the development of the company’s activity.

You are agile, able to adapt quickly and change your priorities in a constantly changing environment.

A full proficiency of English, written and spoken, is essential to hold this position; the French language is a plus for interaction with lab teams.
